Lois was born February 7, 1923 in Vernon County, MO the daughter of
Vernon and Erma Hohn Davis. She spent her childhood and teenage
years on the family farm and attended Bronaugh High School. She
married Harry Zafuta on June 19, 1942 in Nevada, MO. In 1945, they
moved to Frontenac where she spent most of her life as a homemaker
while also working at Vacohy in Girard. Harry preceded her in death on
July 7, 1984.
She married Pete Onelio in 1998. He preceded her in death in 2007.
Survivors include sisters Shirley Young of Independence, MO and
Nadine Lloyd of Camdenton, MO, sons Ronald of Pittsburg and Paul
(Debbie) of San Diego, CA, daughters Anita Lunn of Fresno, CA, Beverly
(Dan) Burke of Hotchkiss, Co, and Dana Zafuta of Auberry, CA, 14
grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Her life was centered around friends and family. She will be remembered
for her love for her children, playing the piano, and playing cards and
games with her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Friskel
Funeral Home, 230 E. McKay St, PO Box 907, Frontenac, KS 66762.
Burial will follow at Stevens Cemetery near Bronaugh, MO. The family will
receive friends from 6-8pm on Monday at the funeral home. Friends may
call the funeral home after 3pm on Monday. The family suggests
expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to the Frontenac
High School Education Foundation Fund. Memorials may be left at or
mailed to Friskel Funeral Home of Frontenac. E-mail condolences may
