Obituaries
         Alice Jewel Peak Pinamonti Verga, 83 of Frontenac died at 7:35
a.m. Wednesday July 20, 2011 at her home in Frontenac surrounded by
her family.

         She was born August 25, 1927 in Ringo , KS the daughter of
Clarence and Alma (Dykes) Peak.  She was a 1945 graduate of
Cherokee High School .  During her life she lived in the
Pittsburg/Chicopee/Kirkwood areas.  She moved to Frontenac in 1947
where she has lived since.

         Alice married William Pinamonti on October 3, 1946 in Chicopee ,
KS ; he preceded her in death on July 24, 1971.  She them married Alex
Verga on December 22, 1973 in Miami , OK ; he preceded her in death
on February 13, 1988.

         She worked as an office secretary/manager for Cremer Monument
Company retiring in 1995.  She began working for Friskel Funeral Home
in 1996 and remained working until 2010 and had to retire due to health
reasons.

         Alice was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in
Frontenac, a 60 year member of the Frontenac American Legion
Auxiliary Post #43 where she served as past president and secretary, the
AARP Association Chapter 2814, the Sacred Heart Altar Society and a
former member of the Frontenac Eagles Auxiliary.

         Survivors include a daughter Carlotta Geisler and husband
George of Frontenac; a son William Pinamonti Jr. and wife Christine of
Rapid City, SD; a brother Bryan Peak of Paola, KS, a sister Maxine
Anderson of Frontenac; three grandchildren Nicholas Pinamonti, Krista
Geisler (Amershek) and husband Steve, Ryan Geisler and Kylie Parsons
several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by
her parents, both husbands and a brother Eli Peak .

         Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday July 23, 2011at
the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac with Father Thomas
Stroot as celebrant.  Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories
Cemetery.  The parish rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Friday at the
Friskel Funeral Home in Frontenac where the family will receive friends
following the rosary until 8 p.m.  Friends may call the funeral home after
noon on Friday.  Condolences can be sent to
