Ruth Manion, 95 of Arma died at 6:50 a.m. Tuesday May 24, 2011
at the Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg.
She was born February 28, 1916 in Roseland, KS the daughter of
Lynus and Mary Ann (Pattinson) Morgan. She and her husband moved
to Chicago in 1940 and then moved to Arma, KS in 1976.
Ruth married John T. Manion Sr. in October of 1939 in Frontenac,
KS; he preceded her in death in 1997.
Ruth was a homemaker, she enjoyed cooking, sewing, crocheting,
and was an all around wonderful person. Throughout her life she
endured difficult tasks but still managed to keep her nurturing/motherly
personality even up until her final weeks. She will be greatly missed by
her entire family.
Survivors include her son John T. Manion and wife Linda of Arma; a
daughter Mary Ann Blakemore of Pittsburg; Grandsons-William
Blakemore, Ken Blakemore and wife Brandy, Scott Blakemore and wife
Lori, Allen Blakemore and wife Dionne; Granddaughter Linda Brinkmeyer
and husband Kurt; Great-grandchildren-Christina, Alisha, Jill, Devon,
Madison, Chase, Ashley, Megan, Sapphire and Vivian; Great-great
grandchildren Davis, Kylan and Alyssa. She was preceded death by her
parents, husband, two brothers Edward and Matthew and a sister Hazel.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday May 27, 2011 at the Friskel
Funeral Home in Frontenac with Reverend Don Foster officiating. Burial
will follow in the Mount Olive Cemetery. The family will receive friends
from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home where friends may call after
1 p.m. Thursday. Condolences can be sent to
