Obituaries
Maurine Lowe passed from this life into God's eternity on January 6,
2012, at Oakview Estates Assisted Living in Frontenac , Kansas .
She was born in Frontenac on April 12, l922, to Gertrude Freudenberger
Morrison and Clarence C. Morrison. She graduated from Frontenac High
School and remained lifelong friends with many of her classmates.
During World War II she worked at the Parsons Ammunition Plant filling
and assembling ammunition shells. She also worked at the Parsons Tent
Factory sewing tents for the American soldiers.
Following World War II, when peace had finally returned, she married
Harold N. Lowe at the Pittsburg Presbyterian Church. She and Harold
made their home in Pittsburg the remainder of their married lives.
Maurine was a loving mother and homemaker, and Harold was a
postman until his sudden death on November 13, 1970.
During the years following Harold's death, Maurine pursued many
hobbies. She was an avid gardener, and she loved cooking for her
family and crocheting gifts for family and friends. She was a devoted
member of the Pittsburg Doll Club and enjoyed collecting and learning
about dolls. She was an active member of the Veterans' Women's
Auxiliary and enjoyed league bowling. She was a lifetime member of the
Presbyterian Church.
Many years were also devoted to providing care for family members.
She was a care-giver for her mother-in-law, Margaret Lowe; both of her
parents; and her aunt, Iva Noble.
She was preceded in death by her husband; both parents; her brother,
William C. Morrison; and her sister, Helen M. Faires.
Survivors include one son Robert Lowe and his wife Linda of Gardner,
Kansas, and one daughter Mary Naccarato and her husband Frank of
Frontenac . She is also survived by three granddaughters: Jennifer
(Jason) Vissering of Waverly, Iowa ; Faith Naccarato of Frontenac; and
Holly (Eric) Rockers of Garden Plain, Kansas. In addition, she is
survived by three great grandchildren: Kyla Vissering, Tanner Rockers,
and Kade Rockers, and by two lifelong daughters-by-choice: Janice
Allison and Susie Tims.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Monday January 9th, 2012 at the
Pittsburg Presbyterian Church with Reverend KO NooNoo officiating.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time on Monday
at the church. Friends may also call at the funeral home on Sunday
