Tuesday June 22, 2010 at the Girard Medical Center.

She was born April 16, 1926 in Pittsburg, KS the daughter of George
and Susie (Steepleton) Benner.  She was raised in Pittsburg and 1953.

Wilma married Joseph O. Lavery on September 11, 1947 in Chicopee,
KS; he preceded her in death on June 29, 1996.

She was a homemaker, a member of the Sacred Heath Catholic Church,
the Frontenac Eagles Auxiliary and the Frontenac American Legion
Auxiliary.

Survivors include 2 daughters Janice Sighel of Frontenac, Donna
Cronister of Pittsburg; 3 sons Robert (Bob) Lavery of Dallas, TX, Steve
Lavery of Shreveport, LA, Dennis Lavery of Frontenac, KS; a brother
Eugene Benner of Hutchinson, KS; 12 Grandchildren and 15
Great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents,
husband, 9 brothers, 1 sister and a grandson Tony Sighel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 p.m. Friday June 25, 2010 at the
Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac with Father Robert Spencer
as celebrant; burial will follow in the Garden of Memories Cemetery.  The
parish rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Friskel Funeral
Home in Frontenac where the family will receive friends following until 8
p.m.  Friends may call the funeral home after 4 p.m. Thursday.  The
family will be at the home of son and daughter-in-law Dennis and Connie
Lavery, 216 W. Leighton in Frontenac. Condolences can be sent to

Tony Sighel Scholarship Fund.  Memorials may be left at or mailed to the
