Daniel Raymond “BA” Bridwell, 60 of Frontenac, KS died at 2:49pm,
Wednesday, May 19, 2010 at Via Christi Hospital of Pittsburg, KS.
BA was born January 20, 1950 in Pittsburg, KS to Wilford P. “Bob” and
Elizabeth “Betty” (Tomaney) Bridwell. He attended area schools,
graduating from Frontenac High School. He later attended Kansas State
Teachers College.
On May 30, 1970 in Pittsburg, KS, he married Deborah Kay Kabonic. She
survives of the home.
BA worked as a social worker for a few years. Followed by 25 years of
service at the Kansas City Southern Railroad, after which he opened the
indoor Diamond 6-D horse arena.
BA was of the Catholic faith. He belonged to the American Quarter Horse
Association. He currently was serving on the City Council for Frontenac.
He was an avid Frontenac Raider fan and supporter. He was an avid
golfer. He loved horses and ran Diamond 6-D arena, where he listened
to and played music with his friends.
Diamond Dan or BA, as he was known to many area children.
Additional survivors include his daughter Danna Carson and husband
Erik of Overland Park, KS; sons Doug Bridwell and wife Dana of Cheney,
KS, Darrin Bridwell and wife Tara of Frontenac, KS and Dennis Bridwell
and Amy of Frontenac; brother Jim Bridwell and wife Reva of Frontenac,
KS; along with 11 grandchildren he cherished, Sage, Gage, Devon,
Erika, Carter, Malori, Alivia, J.D., Cale, Makena and Jaxon.
BA was preceded in death by his parents, Sister Jeanne Dayton,
brothers Robert “Bob” and William “Bill” Bridwell; in-laws Mabel and
Kenneth Kabonic.
Funeral services will 11am, Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Frontenac United
Methodist Church with Pastor Dennis Paschke and Fr. Thomas Stroot co-
officiating. After the funeral service the family will receive friends at the
Diamond 6-D arena. Private family inurnment will be at a later date. The
family will receive friends from 6-9pm on Friday at Friskel Funeral Home,
230 E. McKay St, where a rosary will be recited at 6:00pm. Friends may
call the funeral home after 4pm on Friday. E-mail condolences may be

expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorials to Daniel R. “BA”
Bridwell Scholarship fund. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Friskel
