Obituaries
Monday, February 7, 2011, at the Oak Bend Hospital in Richmond, TX.

He was born October 31, 1922 in Weir, KS the son of Thomas Martin
Barrett, Sr. and Nell (Hallacy) Barrett.  He graduated from Weir High
School and Kansas State Teachers College with a Bachelors Degree in
Mathematics.

Thomas was a WWII Army Veteran, serving in the 101st Airborne from
January 1943 to January 1946.  He was awarded the EAME Campaign
Medal with three Bronze Stars, The Purple Heart and The World War II
Victory Metal.

On August 12, 1953 he was united in marriage to Mary Naccarato in
Springfield, IL.  She preceded him in death on November 17, 2007.

He was a Pipefitter/Steamfitter for Local 140.

He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac.

Survivors include a daughter, Thea Barrett of Richmond, TX; two sisters:
Marie Lorenzato of San Mateo, CA and Sister Helen Barrett of Wichita,
KS.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and two brothers Timothy
and John Robert Barrett.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am, Monday, February 14, 2011 at the
Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Frontenac with Father Robert Spencer
as Celebrant.  Burial will follow in the St. Bridget’s Catholic Cemetery in
Scammon, KS.  Family will receive friends at the Friskel Funeral Home
from 6 pm Sunday where the rosary will be recited at 7 pm.  Condolences
